Bike Ride To Big Dam In Maharashtra

I just want to do a short bike ride. So I decided let’s go to the big dam in Maharashtra which is the Jayakwadi dam at Paithan.

Paithan is just 60 km away from Aurangabad city.

As I am from Aurangabad city it was Sunday my friend anil arrived at 8 am at my house. I was full of excitement as we have planned for going to Paithan to see one of the big dams in Maharashtra.

My mom has already made lunch for us. I am blessed to have a great mother like her.

Bike Journey Towards Paithan

We started our journey on the bike at 9 am from Aurangabad. I am riding my bike very smoothly as Jayakwadi Dam Paithan is just 60 km from Aurangabad.

Well, Aurangabad city is the capital of the Marathwada region.

On the way, we saw many devotees and Palaki of Saint Eknath Maharaj.

As the summer is going on and the heat is a lot, after covering a distance of 10 to 15 km we stopped near the sugarcane juice center.

We had sugarcane juice and it was very refreshing. After having a juice I interacted with people and they told me how hard they worked on the farm and still had very little earnings.

I just wished them good luck and left for Paithan. We reached Saint Eknath Maharaj Samadhi mandir at 11 am.

Big Dam In Maharashtra

Then in the afternoon, we visited the Jayakwadi Dam. The dam is very vast and there is a total of 27 water gates for the dam.

Jayakwadi Dam is the big dam in Maharashtra.

The dam reservoir is about 27 km wide and 55 km long and spans over 350 km2 fed by the Pravara rivers and the Godavari.

This dam’s water is used for drinking and irrigation in Aurangabad, Jalna, Parbhani, and Nanded.

We almost spent two hours in the dam then we clicked some pictures.

After visiting Dam, we went to a nearby Juice center and had Lunch which were Chapati and Dal made by my mother.

During lunch, we also had Sugarcane juice.  Then we sat under a tree and took some rest.

Then we visited Sant Dyaneshwar Udyan as it is very famous. But our bad luck, it was closed Due to some maintenance in the garden and the Security Guard assured us that it will start soon.

By looking inside from the gates only we could understand how big and beautiful the garden is. The last time we visited the Paithan garden at 7 years ago.

If you plan to visit Paithan you must visit this garden but remember to visit at evening 5 pm.

Because the weather is beautiful in the evening. In the evening you will get to enjoy the famous water fountain known as Karanji.

Where the water fountain dance to various music. Which they play in the evening.

Too much crowd comes in the evening, especially on Sunday.

While returning from Paithan we again had Sugarcane juice. On our return journey, we started playing a singing game while riding a bike.

We reached Aurangabad in the evening.

In this way, we did a 1-day road trip to one of the big dams in Maharashtra.
